2027: Accord Unveils Consensus Candidates for Osun Senate, Reps Seats

The Accord Party has officially unveiled its consensus candidates for senatorial and House of Representatives positions across Osun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.


The announcement, which has generated reactions within the political space in the state, featured several prominent political figures and grassroots mobilisers selected to fly the party’s flag in Osun Central, Osun West and Osun East Senatorial Districts.


For Osun Central Senatorial District, the party adopted Alhaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa, popularly known as Asejere, as its consensus candidate for the Senate seat. Other candidates unveiled for House of Representatives positions in the district include Hon. Morufu Adebayo, also known as Gangaria, for Osogbo Federal Constituency; Hon. Soji Adetunji (SOJ) for Ifelodun Federal Constituency; and Hon. Clement Akanni Ademola (Olohunwa) for Ila Federal Constituency.


In Osun West Senatorial District, former lawmaker, Senator Lere Oyewunmi, emerged as the party’s consensus senatorial candidate. The party also picked Hon. Bamidele Salam for Ede Federal Constituency, Hon. Lukman Alani Mudashiru (L&K) for Iwo Federal Constituency, and Hon. Lanre Oladebo for Irewole Federal Constituency.


For Osun East Senatorial District, the Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Ibukun Fadipe (IBK), was adopted as the party’s consensus candidate for the Senate. Others unveiled in the district include Hon. Tosin Eluwole, PhD, for Ife Federal Constituency; legal practitioner, Hon. Pelumi Olajengbesi, for Ijesa North Federal Constituency; and Hon. Popoola Ibrahim Alaba, popularly called Alabama, for Ijesa South Federal Constituency.


Party stakeholders described the emergence of the candidates as a strategic move aimed at strengthening Accord’s chances in the 2027 elections, expressing confidence in the candidates’ capacity to deliver effective representation and mobilise support across the state.
