2027: APC Picks Sanya Omirin as Consensus Candidate for Ijesa South Reps Seat

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Osun State, has adopted Hon. Sanya Omirin as its consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the forthcoming 2027 elections.
The decision, according to party leaders, followed extensive consultations among stakeholders, elders, and members of the party across the constituency.
The party described the move as a strategic step aimed at strengthening unity within the APC and presenting a candidate considered experienced, committed, and capable of providing quality representation for the people of Ijesa South.
The announcement sparked celebrations among party supporters and loyalists, many of whom described the consensus arrangement as a victory for peace and togetherness within the progressive fold.
Speaking after his adoption, Hon. Omirin expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the APC for the confidence reposed in him.
He said he was humbled by the overwhelming support and pledged not to disappoint the party and the people of the constituency.
“I am humbled and honoured by this trust. I thank the leaders and members of our great party, the APC, for coming together as one family to make this possible. This victory belongs to all of us in the progressive family,” he stated.
Omirin further assured party faithful that he would work diligently to ensure effective representation and attract meaningful development to Ijesa South Federal Constituency.
He also called on members of the party to remain united and committed to the collective progress of the APC ahead of future political engagements.
