By Kehinde Awosina
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally entered the race for the 2027 presidential election, submitting his nomination forms at the National Secretariat of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja.
The former presidential candidate described his latest political move as part of what he called a broader national mission aimed at restoring economic stability, prosperity, and hope for Nigerians. He said the decision marks a renewed commitment to what he termed the “march to better days” for the country.
Atiku noted that his ambition goes beyond politics, stressing that it represents a movement anchored on national rebirth, unity, and collective responsibility to address Nigeria’s current challenges. He called on Nigerians across all regions, religions, and ethnic backgrounds to rally behind the vision.
According to him, the objective is to reposition the country on the path of growth and restore confidence in governance, while creating opportunities that will improve the living standards of citizens.
He further urged supporters to see the campaign as a national project rather than a partisan contest, insisting that Nigeria can be rebuilt through shared determination and inclusive leadership.
The development signals an early start to what is expected to be a highly competitive race ahead of the 2027 general elections.
