2027 Battle Looms in Obokun/Oriade as Pelumi Olajengbesi Secures Reps Ticket to Challenge Longtime Lawmaker Oluwole Oke

A legal practitioner and former member of the Law Corridor, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, has secured the ticket to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency under Accord ahead of the 2027 general election.

Olajengbesi’s emergence has set the stage for what political observers describe as a major showdown against the long-serving lawmaker, Hon. Oluwole Oke of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who has represented the constituency at the Green Chamber since 2003, losing only once during his political career.

The development has already generated reactions across Obokun and Oriade local government areas, with supporters of the young legal practitioner describing his candidacy as a fresh opportunity for renewed representation and grassroots-driven leadership.

Political stakeholders in the constituency believe the contest could reshape the political landscape of the federal constituency, considering Oke’s long-standing influence and electoral dominance over the years.

Barrister Olajengbesi, known for his contributions in the legal profession and public affairs advocacy, is expected to begin wider consultations and mobilization across the constituency in preparation for the 2027 polls.

The upcoming contest is anticipated to attract significant political attention within Osun State as parties intensify preparations for the general elections.
