2027: Senator Adeola Emerges Ogun APC Governorship Candidate

 By Kehinde Awosina

Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as “Yayi,” has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general election.

Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, secured the party’s ticket following a consensus arrangement and consultations among APC stakeholders in the state.

His emergence is widely seen as a major political development in Ogun State, especially amid growing calls for power rotation to Ogun West Senatorial District. Party leaders and supporters described the process as a move aimed at strengthening unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier presented Adeola to party stakeholders as the preferred consensus candidate after a series of meetings involving key APC figures in the state.

Political observers believe Adeola’s emergence may reshape the political landscape in Ogun State as parties begin early preparations for the 2027 elections.
