ADC Revises 2026 Primary Election Timetable, Extends Nomination, Screening Dates

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced an updated timetable for its 2026 primary elections following requests from aspirants and logistical adjustments ahead of the party’s internal polls.
In a public notice released by the party leadership, the ADC stated that the changes affect only selected activities, while all previously announced dates
not mentioned remain unchanged.
According to the revised schedule, submission of nomination forms has been shifted from May 13 to May 14, 2026. The screening of aspirants, initially scheduled for May 14 to 15, will now hold from May 16 to 17, 2026.
The party also fixed May 17 for the publication of screening results, while appeals against screening decisions will take place between May 18 and 19. Publication of cleared candidates is expected on May 20, 2026.
ADC further disclosed dates for post-primary election appeals. Legislative election appeals are slated for May 22, governorship election appeals for May 23, while presidential election appeals will hold on May 26, 2026.
On screening venues, the party explained that presidential and governorship aspirants will be screened in Abuja, while legislative aspirants are to appear in their respective state capitals.
The notice also clarified fee concessions for women and persons living with disabilities, stating that eligible aspirants are required to pay only 25 percent of the standard nomination form cost. The party added that refunds would be processed for aspirants who may have paid above the approved concession rate.
The statement was jointly signed by the ADC National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
