“Adeleke and Family Should Pocket Their Endorsement” — Osun APC Federal Lawmaker, Wole Oke Dismisses Support for Tinubu

The Director-General of the 2026 governorship campaign council of Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, alongside a federal lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Busayo Oluwole Oke, has rejected the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Osun State Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke.

Reacting to the governor’s recent declaration of support for President Tinubu’s second-term ambition, the APC chieftains described the endorsement as insincere and politically motivated.

In a statement posted earlier on Facebook, the Director-General of the campaign council reportedly stated that Governor Adeleke and his family should “pocket their endorsement” of President Tinubu, insisting that the President does not require such support from the Osun governor.

According to him, the endorsement amounts to a “Greek gift,” suggesting that it carries hidden political motives rather than genuine loyalty to the President and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The reaction comes barely hours after Governor Adeleke publicly endorsed President Tinubu for re-election in 2027, describing the President as “our son, father and leader” while commending the Federal Government for ongoing infrastructure projects in Osun State.

However, APC stakeholders loyal to Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji argued that the governor’s endorsement should not be mistaken for political alignment with the ruling party, maintaining that Osun APC members remain firmly behind President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.

Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke also reportedly aligned with the position, emphasizing that the APC in Osun remains united and committed to delivering electoral victory for President Tinubu without relying on endorsements from opposition figures.

The exchange signals growing political tension in Osun State as permutations ahead of the 2026 governorship election and the 2027 presidential race continue to gather momentum.
