APC Affirms Oborevwori as Sole Governorship Candidate in Delta

Members of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State have affirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s sole governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.


The affirmation took place during the APC governorship primary election held across the state on Thursday, where party delegates and stakeholders endorsed the governor’s candidacy ahead of the next electoral cycle.


Party leaders and supporters at the exercise described the decision as a demonstration of confidence in Oborevwori’s leadership and political influence in Delta State.


The development further strengthens the governor’s position within the APC as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.

Philip Ayodele, has officially resigned his appointment, citing the non-payment of five months’ salary arrears running from May to September 2025. Ayodele, who hails from Ipetu-Ile Ward 02 in Obokun Local Government Area, said his decision followed prolonged neglect of his entitlements despite repeated efforts to resolve the issue through formal channels.
