APC Members Affirm Dauda Lawal as Zamfara Governorship Candidate for 2027

Members of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State have affirmed Governor Dauda Lawal as the party’s consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.


The affirmation reportedly took place during the APC governorship primary and consensus exercise held in Madawaki Ward, Gusau Local Government Area, where delegates and party supporters endorsed Lawal as the sole candidate for the election. 


Officials of the party said the endorsement followed consultations among APC stakeholders across the state and complied with the party’s consensus arrangement for the governorship race. 


Speaking after the exercise, Governor Lawal expressed appreciation to party members and supporters for their confidence in his administration, pledging to continue efforts in the areas of security, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and education across the state. 


The development further strengthens the governor’s position within the ruling party as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum in Zamfara State.

Philip Ayodele, has officially resigned his appointment, citing the non-payment of five months’ salary arrears running from May to September 2025.
