APC Primaries: Olufemi Akosile Defeats Rivals to Secure Oriade Assembly Ticket

Engr. Olufemi Akosile has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Oriade State Constituency ahead of the 2027 Osun State House of Assembly election after securing victory in the party’s primary election held across the constituency on Tuesday.
According to the official collated results released after the exercise, Akosile polled a total of 2,326 votes to defeat other aspirants including Hon. Tomilayo Aloba who scored 1,193 votes, Hon. Arch. Desmond Babatunde Ojo with 830 votes, and Prof. Andrew Akinmoladun who secured 31 votes.
The election, conducted across the 12 wards in Oriade Local Government Area, witnessed massive participation from APC members and supporters, with Akosile recording impressive victories in several wards including Wards 1, 3, 5, 6, and 7.
Political stakeholders and party faithful described the exercise as peaceful and transparent, while supporters of the victorious candidate celebrated across different parts of the constituency after the announcement of the results.
Engr. Akosile, an indigene of Ikeji-Ile, is a renowned engineer and an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University. His emergence is being seen by many party members as a strategic move by the APC to strengthen its chances in the 2027 State Assembly election.
The APC primary is part of the party’s ongoing preparations for the 2027 general elections in Osun State.
