Eid-el-Kabir: Tinubu Assures Nigerians of Better Economy, Improved Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as the nation continues its journey of economic recovery and national renewal.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message released on Tuesday, the President congratulated Muslims for witnessing another celebration of the Festival of Sacrifice, while reflecting on the virtues of faith, obedience, and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Tinubu said the sacred festival serves as a reminder for Nigerians to show love, mercy, and compassion to one another regardless of ethnic, religious, or social differences.

According to the President, Nigeria’s ongoing reforms, though difficult, are necessary steps toward building a stronger and more prosperous nation for future generations.

He stated that the sacrifices made by Nigerians and his administration over the past three years are already yielding positive results, including a more stable economy and improved investor confidence.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President declared, expressing optimism that the reforms being implemented by his administration would continue to create jobs, strengthen economic growth, and improve national security.

Tinubu also acknowledged the persistent security challenges facing parts of the country, noting that terrorists and bandits still carry out attacks despite efforts by security agencies.

He, however, reassured affected communities that the Federal Government remains committed to defeating criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the country.

The President referenced the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader as part of ongoing security operations and praised the efforts of the nation’s security and intelligence agencies.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he said.

Tinubu further called on Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, unity, and wisdom for leaders at all levels.

He urged citizens to support the less privileged and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and national unity during the festive season.

The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to improve the quality of life for Nigerians.

He concluded by wishing Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying that Allah accepts the sacrifices and prayers offered during the season.
