Fadahunsi Wins APC Ticket for Third Term Bid in Osun East

 By Kehinde Awosina

The lawmaker representing Osun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the next senatorial election in the district.

Fadahunsi was declared winner of the party’s senatorial primary election held on Sunday, securing the APC ticket to seek a third term in the Red Chamber.

The development marks another major political milestone for the former military officer turned politician, who was first elected into the Senate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He won re-election for a second term on the PDP platform before defecting to the APC in 2025.

Since his defection, Fadahunsi has continued to strengthen his political structure across Osun East, maintaining influence in the district through constituency projects and grassroots engagement.

With his emergence as APC candidate, political observers believe the contest for the Osun East senatorial seat is expected to attract significant attention ahead of the general elections.

Supporters of the senator have expressed confidence in his chances, citing his legislative experience and political reach across the senatorial district.
