FG Declares Public Holidays for Eid Al-Adha 2026 Celebration

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced official public holidays to mark the 2026 Eid Al-Adha celebration, offering Muslims across the country the opportunity to observe the important Islamic festival.


The declaration was made as part of the government’s routine recognition of major religious festivities, with Eid Al-Adha being one of the most significant celebrations in Islam, observed globally to commemorate devotion, sacrifice, and faith.


Eid Al-Adha, a major Islamic festival, is traditionally marked by prayers, animal sacrifice, charity, and gatherings among families and communities.
