Full List of APC Governorship Candidates for 2027 Elections

The governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections have produced a growing list of candidates across Nigeria’s 36 states, with several governors, high-profile politicians, and consensus arrangements dominating the selection process.
While some states have concluded their primaries, others are still awaiting final results or have had their exercises postponed.
Below is the developing full list of APC governorship candidates for the 2027 elections as obtained from party sources and emerging reports:
States with Declared APC Candidates
Abia State – Eric Opah emerged winner after polling 126,977 votes, defeating Henry Ikoh, who scored 5,905 votes.
Akwa Ibom State – Governor Umo Eno emerged as the APC candidate through consensus.
Borno State – Mustapha Gubio was returned as candidate via consensus arrangement.
Cross River State – Governor Bassey Otu emerged as candidate through consensus.
Delta State – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori secured the ticket after polling 345,375 votes.
Ebonyi State – Governor Francis Nwifuru emerged unopposed through consensus.
Enugu State – Governor Peter Mbah was adopted as candidate via consensus.
Gombe State – Jamilu Gwamna clinched the ticket with 247,161 votes, defeating Professor Isa Pantami and Saidu Ahmed Alkali.
Jigawa State – Governor Umar Namadi emerged through consensus.
Kaduna State – Governor Uba Sani secured the ticket after polling 459,393 votes.
Kano State – Governor Abba Yusuf emerged through consensus arrangement.
Katsina State – Governor Dikko Radda emerged through consensus.
Kebbi State – Governor Nasir Idris was adopted as candidate.
Lagos State – Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat won the primary with 657,917 votes, defeating Lanre Kamal.
Niger State – Governor Umaru Bago emerged through consensus.
Ogun State – Senator Solomon Adeola clinched the ticket after polling 304,055 votes.
Rivers State – Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerged as candidate after polling 268,497 votes following withdrawals by other aspirants.
Sokoto State – Governor Ahmad Aliyu emerged through consensus.
Zamfara State – Governor Dauda Lawal was adopted through consensus arrangement.
States Awaiting Final Results or Ongoing Primaries
Adamawa State – Final result yet to be announced, with Ahmed Galadima reportedly leading.
Benue State – Governor Hyacinth Alia leads with a wide margin and is expected to emerge.
Bauchi State – Primary postponed and set to continue.
Kwara State – Exercise postponed and to resume.
Nasarawa State – Primary postponed.
Oyo State – Final result pending, with Senator Sharafadeen Alli reportedly leading.
Plateau State – Governor Caleb Mutfwang leads and is expected to clinch the ticket.
Taraba State – Governor Agbu Kefas leads with a wide margin.
Yobe State – Baba Malam Wali reportedly leading.
Off-Cycle Election States
The APC did not conduct governorship primaries in Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun States, due to their off-cycle election schedules.
