IREKANDU Secures Accord Ticket for Third-Term Bid Amid Party Tension

 By Kehinde Awosina

Adewumi Adeyemi has reportedly secured the Accord Party ticket to contest for a third term as the member representing Obokun State Constituency.

Sources within the party disclosed that key leaders and stakeholders allegedly endorsed the lawmaker ahead of the party’s electoral processes, citing his experience, political influence, and contributions to the constituency as major factors behind the decision.

According to insiders, the endorsement has further strengthened IREKANDU’s position within the party as preparations intensify ahead of the next election cycle.

However, as of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the Accord Party leadership or the lawmaker confirming the development.

The reported endorsement has also sparked tension within sections of the party, as some members and aspirants from other constituencies are said to be expressing dissatisfaction over the alleged arrangement. Some party faithful reportedly insist that the ticket should be made open for wider contest to ensure fairness and internal democracy.

Despite the growing concerns, supporters of IREKANDU maintain that his political antecedents and grassroots connection make him a strong candidate to retain the seat for another term.
