Methodist Synod Picks Dame Florence Babarinsa to Lead Imesi-Ile Diocese Laity

The Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Imesi-Ile, has elected Dame Florence Babarinsa KJW as the Lay President-Elect of the Diocese during its ongoing Diocesan Synod held at the Otan-Ile Circuit.


Her emergence marks a new chapter in the leadership of the Diocese as she succeeds Dame Victoria Oreoluwa Oni KJW, whose tenure was widely described as impactful and devoted to the advancement of the church and the spiritual growth of members.


According to a statement issued by the Diocesan Public Relations Unit, Dame Babarinsa’s election reflects the confidence and trust members of the Diocese have in her leadership qualities, Christian dedication, and commitment to the service of God.


Church leaders and members at the Synod expressed optimism that her experience and passion for church development would further strengthen the mission and activities of the Diocese.


The statement also noted that the Lay President-Elect is expected to be formally inducted into office by the Conference at a later date in line with the traditions and procedures of the church.


Following the announcement, congratulatory messages poured in from members of the Diocese, associates, and well-wishers who prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for her as she prepares to take on the responsibility.


The election has been described by many within the church community as a well-deserved recognition of years of commitment and faithful service to the Methodist faith.
