The Otan-Ile Progressive Union (OPU) has congratulated the newly installed Owa Afole of Otan-Ile, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adetona Michael Aderogba Tolulope, describing his emergence as a historic and divine blessing for the people of the ancient town.
In a congratulatory message jointly signed by the National President of OPU, Hon. Bello Saliu Bamidele, and the National Secretary, Alhaji Funsho Adeomi, the union expressed joy over the ascension of the monarch to the revered throne of his forefathers.
According to the statement, the emergence of the new Owa Afole represents not only a victory for the royal lineage but also a moment of pride and unity for all sons and daughters of Otan-Ile, both at home and in the diaspora.
The union noted that the throne of Owa Afole remains a sacred symbol of honour, courage, unity, and cultural heritage, expressing confidence that the reign of the new monarch would usher in peace, development, prosperity, and communal growth across the town.
OPU also commended the Olotan-in-Council, particularly the highly respected High Chief Obaala, the Iwarefas, and other traditional stakeholders for maintaining peace and stability following the transition of the late monarch, Oba Fagbemirade I.
The group praised the traditional leaders for preserving the dignity of the throne and ensuring unity within the community during what it described as a sensitive period in the town’s history.
Offering prayers for the monarch, the union asked God to grant Oba Adetona Michael Aderogba Tolulope wisdom, strength, good health, and a successful reign marked by progress and development.
The statement further expressed hope that the reign of the new monarch would attract improved infrastructure, economic advancement, educational development, social harmony, and greater opportunities for the people of Otan-Ile.
Quoting Proverbs 24:3, the union stated, “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established,” while wishing the monarch a peaceful and impactful reign on the throne of his ancestors.
