The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has appealed to party members, aspirants and supporters to remain calm and united following the conclusion of its National Assembly and House of Assembly primary elections held across the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the party congratulated candidates who emerged victorious, while also commending unsuccessful aspirants for displaying sportsmanship during and after the exercise.
The party described elections as a natural contest of interests where only one candidate can emerge winner, stressing that losing a primary should not be seen as a measure of inferiority among aspirants.
According to the APC, the successful candidates must now focus on strengthening party unity and reconciliation ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state. The leadership urged all stakeholders to place the interest of the party above personal ambitions in preparation for future electoral contests.
The party also expressed concern over negative comments and divisive statements allegedly made by some members before and after the primaries. It warned party faithful against attacking the leadership or engaging in actions capable of causing internal crisis and disunity.
The APC further appealed to aspirants and candidates to caution their supporters, especially on social media, against spreading offensive messages or comments that could deepen tensions within the party.
Lawal praised party leaders, executives and supporters across the state for their sacrifices and commitment toward the successful conduct of the primaries.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising support for its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
