Osun APC Crisis Deepens as Imole Campaign Slams Wole Oke Over Disqualification Row and Alleged Elitist Remarks

 By Kehinde Awosina

Osun The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has criticised the reaction of the media team of the Osun APC Campaign Director General, Oluwole Oke, describing it as “embarrassing, defensive, and politically motivated,” while also alleging widespread disqualification of aspirants within the All Progressives Congress in Osun State.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., the group claimed that the Osun APC had allegedly disqualified about 32 aspirants without clear or convincing justification, a development it said reflects what it described as a lack of internal democratic culture within the party.

The statement further compared the alleged situation to past controversies involving prominent figures such as Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Senator Iyiola Omisore, accusing the party of a pattern of exclusion and political imposition.

According to the group, rather than addressing what it described as “insensitive remarks” allegedly made by Hon. Wole Oke regarding ordinary Nigerians and their educational choices, the APC campaign DG had instead focused on defending reports surrounding his alleged disqualification.

It argued that such a response demonstrated emotional overreaction and political anxiety, adding that public officials should show humility and respect when engaging with citizens, especially those from less privileged backgrounds.

The statement also faulted what it described as elitist undertones in recent political commentary, insisting that leadership should be grounded in empathy and inclusiveness rather than class distinction or personal superiority.

The group maintained that growing political sentiment within Osun suggests a demand for generational and leadership change after what it described as over two decades of political dominance by certain actors.

It urged the Osun APC to embrace internal democracy, warning that continued allegations of imposition and exclusion could further deepen divisions within the party ahead of future elections.
