“Our Time Has Come” — Pelumi Olajengbesi Reacts as Wole Oke Secures APC Ticket for 7th Term
Renowned legal practitioner and House of Representatives hopeful, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has reacted on his Facebook page to the emergence of longtime federal lawmaker, Wole Oke, as the APC candidate for another term representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.
Olajengbesi, popularly known for his role at Law Corridor, made his position known in a statement shortly after Oke clinched the APC ticket to seek a seventh term in the Green Chamber.
Reacting to the development, the Accord Party aspirant said he had been flooded with congratulatory messages from friends and supporters within the APC fold, a situation he described as both surprising and symbolic.
“What is happening, Ijesa North? I have been receiving lots of messages from my friends in APC repeatedly saying congratulations to me. Well, whatever it is, congratulations is a good thing, and I gladly claim it,” he stated.
Wole Oke, an indigene of Esa-Oke in Obokun Local Government Area, has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives since 2003, except for a brief electoral setback during one of his re-election bids.
However, Olajengbesi, who hails from Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade Local Government Area, recently resigned from his position to contest for the federal seat under the Accord Party, setting the stage for what many political observers describe as a major battle ahead of the next general election.
In a message directed to the people of Oriade and Obokun, the lawyer expressed optimism that a new political era was about to begin in the constituency.
“ORIADE/OBOKUN, our set time and season have finally come, the day the Lord has made,” he declared
Political analysts believe the emergence of Pelumi Olajengbesi may reshape the political equation in the federal constituency, especially among youths and first-time voters seeking a new direction in leadership.
