The Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Pastor Francis Olajire Agboola (CNA), has called on Muslims to continue promoting peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Wednesday, the council chairman congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Obokun Local Government, Osun State, and across Nigeria on the successful celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, describing the festival as a sacred season of sacrifice, obedience, love, and compassion.

Hon. Agboola stated that Eid-el-Kabir remains a significant moment for spiritual reflection and renewed commitment to the values of tolerance, selflessness, and peaceful living as taught in Islam. He urged Muslim faithful to use the celebration as an avenue to strengthen communal harmony and deepen the spirit of oneness among Nigerians.

The chairman further appealed to citizens to continue praying for the peace, unity, stability, and progress of Nigeria, especially as the country gradually approaches another political season. According to him, the future and development of the nation largely depend on the collective efforts of citizens to maintain peace and mutual respect regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences.

He also charged political actors, youths, and community leaders to reject violence, divisive statements, and actions capable of threatening societal peace, emphasizing that sustainable growth can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and collective responsibility.

Hon. Agboola reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to peaceful coexistence, grassroots development, and inclusive governance in Obokun Local Government.

While wishing Muslims a joyful and spiritually rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the chairman prayed for divine blessings, renewed hope, and lasting peace across Obokun Local Government, Osun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
