By Kehinde Awosina
Confusion has continued to trail the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election in Obokun State Constituency following separate victory claims by supporters of two leading aspirants, Hon. Samuel Folahan Adeniyi and Hon. Gbenga Falope.
Supporters from both camps have flooded social media with varying result sheets, each insisting that their preferred candidate emerged winner of the primary election conducted across the constituency on Wednesday.
The situation has sparked tension among party faithful and residents, as conflicting figures and unofficial results continue to circulate online without confirmation from the party leadership.
While supporters of Hon. Samuel Folahan Adeniyi maintained that their candidate secured majority votes across the wards, loyalists of Hon. Gbenga Falope also released their own figures, declaring him the authentic winner of the exercise.
The development has placed pressure on the APC in Obokun State Constituency, with many party members calling on the leadership to immediately clarify the outcome of the primary in order to avoid further division within the party ahead of the 2027 State House of Assembly election.
As of the time of filing this report, the APC had yet to issue any official statement regarding the final outcome of the primary election.
