Trump Claims Joint US-Nigeria Operation Eliminated Top ISIS Commander in Africa

United States President Donald Trump has announced the killing of a senior ISIS leader, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, in what he described as a joint military operation involving American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

In a statement shared on social media, Trump said the operation was carried out under his directive and described it as a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” aimed at eliminating one of the world’s most active terrorists.

According to Trump, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki was regarded as the second-in-command of ISIS globally and had reportedly been hiding in Africa while coordinating terrorist activities.

He stated that intelligence sources closely monitored the terror leader’s movements before the successful strike was executed by US and Nigerian forces.

Trump further claimed that the operation would significantly weaken ISIS’s global network, noting that the slain commander would no longer be able to “terrorize the people of Africa” or coordinate attacks against Americans.

The former US President also expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for its partnership and support during the operation.

“Thank you to the Government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation,” Trump said while praising both American and Nigerian troops for what he described as a flawless mission.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the Nigerian government or the United States Department of Defense regarding the operation or the reported killing of the ISIS commander.
