“We’re Waiting on FG Approval” — Sunday Igboho Unveils Plan for ‘Iru Ekun’ Security Network to Flush Out Forest Criminals

Sunday Adeyemo has disclosed plans to launch a new regional security initiative known as the “Iru Ekun Security Network,” saying the proposal is currently awaiting approval from the Federal Government.
According to him, the proposed outfit is designed to support efforts in tackling insecurity across the South-West region, particularly by flushing out criminal elements allegedly hiding in forest areas within the geopolitical zone.
Igboho explained that the initiative is intended to complement existing security structures and enhance safety in rural and semi-urban communities where incidents of kidnapping and armed attacks have been reported in recent times.
He noted that the establishment of the outfit cannot proceed without official clearance from relevant federal authorities, stressing that due process is being followed in the push to operationalize the security network.
The development comes amid ongoing debates over regional security arrangements in Nigeria, with stakeholders calling for more coordinated strategies to address rising security challenges.
