16-Year-Old Osasere Okundaye Becomes Nigeria’s Youngest Chartered Accountant

Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has made history by becoming Nigeria's youngest chartered accountant after successfully qualifying through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).


Her remarkable achievement sets a new national record, surpassing the previous milestone established in 2022 by Jonathan Adewale, who earned the prestigious professional qualification at the age of 17.


The accomplishment has attracted widespread commendation across the country, with many describing it as an inspiring testament to the potential of young Nigerians. The ICAN qualification is regarded as one of the nation's most respected professional certifications and is typically attained by university graduates and experienced professionals after years of rigorous study and examinations.


Reacting to the milestone, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, congratulated Okundaye in a statement issued on Monday, describing her success as a reflection of the determination, discipline, and excellence that Nigerian youths can achieve.


The minister said her feat demonstrates that age is not a barrier to excellence when talent is matched with commitment and hard work.


Olawande reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Youth Development's commitment to implementing policies and programmes that empower young Nigerians, nurture their talents, and provide opportunities for them to thrive in different fields.


According to him, Osasere Okundaye's achievement reinforces confidence in the capacity of Nigerian youths to excel globally when given the right support and enabling environment.


He expressed optimism that her record-breaking accomplishment would inspire thousands of young Nigerians to pursue academic and professional excellence without allowing age or circumstances to limit their ambitions.


With her historic qualification, Okundaye has not only etched her name into Nigeria's professional history but has also become a role model for aspiring accountants and young people across the country, proving that dedication and perseverance can lead to extraordinary achievements at an early age.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
