2027: Obidients Reassure Supporters, Insist Obi and Kwankwaso Will Be on the Ballot

The Obidient Movement has reassured its supporters that former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, will appear on the ballot for the 2027 presidential election despite growing speculation over political realignments.

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, gave the assurance while addressing supporters amid concerns about the opposition's preparations for the next general election. He urged members of the movement to remain calm and focused, insisting that there was no cause for anxiety over the participation of the two opposition figures in the race.

Tanko said ongoing consultations and political engagements were aimed at building a formidable platform capable of challenging the ruling party in 2027. According to him, discussions among opposition leaders should be viewed as efforts to strengthen unity rather than a source of uncertainty.

He maintained that Obi remained committed to contesting the presidential election and had consistently assured Nigerians of his determination to be on the ballot. Tanko also expressed confidence that Kwankwaso would play a key role in the opposition's strategy ahead of the polls.

The Obidient Movement further appealed to supporters to avoid being distracted by rumours circulating on social media, stressing that official announcements regarding the 2027 election would come from the recognised leadership of the movement and the political platform.

The assurance comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general election, with opposition parties and support groups working to forge alliances and strengthen their structures across the country in preparation for the contest.
