The total disbursement is split between ₦125,631,083.45 for state-level beneficiaries and ₦78,644,126.35 for local government beneficiaries, covering verified claims processed by the Pension Office.

According to official figures, the administration has now paid a cumulative ₦882,752,717.50 to 184 beneficiaries across the public service since 2023.

In addition, the government confirmed the settlement of ₦1,866,719,123.15 in outstanding personal accident and death-in-service claims owed to 563 beneficiaries covering September 2013 to August 2023.

Officials attributed the reforms to the reorganisation of the insurance structure, following the appointment of as lead broker and as lead underwriter in August 2023.

Governor Adeleke, in a statement read at the event, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare despite fiscal challenges, insisting that the Group Life Assurance Policy under Section 15 of the CPS 2008 was previously neglected.

He criticised past handling of insurance premium remittances, describing earlier irregularities as responsible for delays in claim settlements, while maintaining that his administration had corrected the process structure.

The governor also highlighted the introduction of a Personal Accident Insurance scheme, which provides up to ₦1 million coverage per worker for medical expenses arising from accidents, noting that some beneficiaries have already accessed the benefit.

“We remain committed to workers, pensioners and their families, living or deceased, as part of our social contract,” the statement read.

Speaking on behalf of beneficiaries, retired Director of Administration, Alhaji M.K. Bello, commended the intervention, describing it as unprecedented in the state’s history and praising the governor’s commitment to staff welfare.
