Adeleke to Osun Voters: “Stand Firm, August 15 Victory Is Assured”
By Abdulahi Musa
Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents of Osun State to disregard what he described as fear-mongering and rumours of election manipulation ahead of the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence that his camp will secure a decisive victory at the polls.
Speaking amid growing political tensions and concerns over possible electoral malpractice, Adeleke declared that his administration and supporters were fully prepared to ensure that voters exercise their franchise freely and that every lawful vote counts.
The governor insisted that no individual or institution would be allowed to undermine the democratic rights of Osun people, maintaining that residents were determined to defend the integrity of the electoral process through legitimate means.
“We shall win convincingly and we shall be declared winners with wide margins,” Adeleke said, adding that attempts to spread fear had only strengthened the resolve of voters to sustain what he described as good governance in the state.
Adeleke also dismissed suggestions that federal authorities or security agencies could be used to influence the outcome of the election, stressing that Osun, regarded as the cradle of the Yoruba nation, would not tolerate any effort to disrupt peace or compromise the electoral process.
The governor revealed that his political structure was closely monitoring developments ahead of the election and had put in place mechanisms for the pre-election, election-day and post-election periods.
Turning to the political situation within the opposition, Adeleke called on politicians, community leaders and stakeholders across party lines to align with his political movement, describing his candidature as a broad coalition focused on advancing development in Osun State.
He announced that the Accord platform remained open to new entrants, urging prospective supporters to join what he called a growing movement for continuity and progress ahead of the August 15 governorship contest.
