Dangote Refinery Brings Fresh Petrol Price Relief to Nigerians
By Kehinde Awosina
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), offering fresh relief to consumers across Nigeria amid ongoing fuel market adjustments.
According to the latest pricing update, the refinery lowered its ex-depot price of petrol from ₦1,275 per litre to ₦1,250 per litre, representing a modest reduction aimed at improving affordability and maintaining competitiveness in the downstream petroleum sector.
Industry sources attributed the latest price cut to a recent decline in global crude oil prices, which continues to influence fuel pricing decisions locally and internationally. The adjustment also reflects the refinery’s ongoing efforts to stabilize supply, support economic activities, and ease pressure on transportation and production costs.
This development comes amid repeated fluctuations in petrol pricing by the refinery in recent months, as it responds to changing market dynamics and global energy trends.
Fuel marketers and consumers are expected to monitor how the new price adjustment impacts retail pump prices in the coming days.
