Esa-Oke Killing: Adeleke Shelters Widow, Funds Children's Education

Governor Ademola Adeleke has relocated the widow of the late Accord member, Tolulope Aderogba, and her four children to the Osun State capital, Osogbo, as part of measures to guarantee their safety following the recent killing in Esa-Oke.

The governor also approved full scholarships for the deceased's four children and extended the gesture to a fifth child who had been living with the Aderogba family at the time of the incident. Accommodation has equally been provided for the family, while the widow is currently receiving medical treatment on the governor's directive.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor's spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the relocation was carried out in fulfilment of Governor Adeleke's earlier promise to protect the bereaved family and ensure they receive adequate care.

The statement disclosed that the exercise was coordinated by the spokesperson to the Imole Campaign Council, Hon. Pelumi Olajengbesi, alongside the member representing Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi.

Governor Adeleke, who visited the family after their relocation, assured them that those responsible for Aderogba's death would be identified, arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He further informed police authorities that some residents of Esa-Oke were still facing threats over their political affiliation with the Accord Party and urged security agencies to act swiftly to prevent another tragedy.

The governor also expressed confidence that the directives earlier issued by the Inspector-General of Police were being implemented, warning against any attempt by officers to disregard lawful operational orders.

"I am happy the widow and children are now fully secured here at the capital. We have made all arrangements for their schooling and welfare. The state will ensure their safety, care and justice for the late Aderogba," Adeleke said.

He added: "We expect immediate action to implement the directives of the Inspector General of Police. I hope no police officer will defy openly conveyed instructions and operational orders duly issued by the IGP."

The relocation follows growing concerns over security in Esa-Oke after the killing of Aderogba, which has heightened political tensions in the community.
