Gunmen Kidnap Adelabu’s Brother’s Wife, Twin Children in Oyo

Residents of Oyo State were thrown into panic on Tuesday following the abduction of the wife and twin children of a brother to Nigeria’s Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, during a brazen daylight attack by suspected gunmen.

According to reports, the victims were kidnapped while going about their normal activities when the armed assailants struck and whisked them away to an unknown destination. The incident has heightened concerns over the growing insecurity in parts of Oyo State and the country at large.

Sources familiar with the development said the abducted woman is married to one of Adelabu’s brothers, while the children taken alongside her are twins. Details surrounding the circumstances of the attack remain sketchy, but the incident reportedly occurred in broad daylight, leaving residents shocked by the audacity of the kidnappers. 

Security agencies have since launched efforts to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe release of the victims. Family members and concerned residents are said to be anxiously awaiting positive developments as investigations continue.

The latest abduction adds to a series of kidnapping incidents recorded in Oyo State in recent months, fueling calls for stronger security measures and more decisive action against criminal elements operating within the region. 

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to issue a detailed official statement on the incident, while the whereabouts of the victims remained unknown. Security operatives are reportedly intensifying search operations in a bid to rescue them unharmed.
