Katsina Govt Approves Automatic Employment for First-Class Graduates

The Katsina State Government has announced automatic employment for all indigenes of the state who graduate with first-class degrees from accredited higher institutions across Nigeria, as part of efforts to reward academic excellence and strengthen the state’s workforce. 

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda disclosed the policy during the grand finale of the maiden Katsina State Students’ Week. He explained that the initiative, which previously applied to a limited category of graduates, has now been expanded to cover all first-class graduates of Katsina origin, regardless of the institution attended. 

According to the governor, the decision is aimed at attracting highly qualified professionals into the state civil service and improving service delivery across government ministries, departments, and agencies. He emphasized that excellence should be recognized and rewarded to encourage students to strive for outstanding academic performance. 

Radda noted that his administration remains committed to investing in education, youth development, and human capital advancement. He urged students to remain focused on their studies and contribute positively to the development of Katsina State and Nigeria upon graduation. 

The governor also reiterated his government's resolve to create opportunities for young people through education, skills acquisition, and employment initiatives, describing the first-class employment scheme as part of a broader strategy to build a competent and productive public service.
