Obokun/Oriade: Obisesan Hails Adeleke, Olajegbensi as 10,000 Canvassers Are Inaugurated

A prominent chieftain of the Accord Party and renowned engineer, Hon. Babalola Obisesan, has described the inauguration of 10,000 canvassers for Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election campaign as a clear indication of the growing political strength of the Accord Party in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency and across Osun State.

Obisesan made the remark on his Facebook page following the inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday in Ijebu-Ijesa, Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State. The event was organised by Barr. Pelumi Olajegbensi, the Accord Party's prospective House of Representatives candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, in support of Governor Adeleke's re-election bid in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Reacting to the massive turnout recorded at the event, Obisesan stated that the gathering demonstrated the increasing influence of the Accord Party within the constituency and the state at large.

"This is a clear sign that Accord Party has dominated Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency and Osun State as a whole. Congratulations to Pelumi Olajegbensi for pulling this together and congratulations in advance to Governor Ademola Adeleke. In the meantime, na here I dey ooo. We work hard and play hard," he wrote.

The inauguration attracted several prominent political figures and government officials, including , , Chief of Staff to the Governor, , , as well as leaders of the state's chapter of the and other stakeholders.

Observers at the event noted the large turnout of supporters, party faithful, and residents from different parts of Obokun and Oriade local government areas, underscoring the growing momentum behind Governor Adeleke's re-election campaign.

The inauguration of the canvassers is expected to strengthen grassroots mobilisation efforts ahead of the governorship election, as political parties intensify preparations for what is anticipated to be a keenly contested race in Osun State.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
