Osun APC in Turmoil as Members Demands Removal of Wole Oke as Campaign DG

 By Kehinde Awosina

A politically charged open letter circulating within the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the immediate removal of Hon. Wole Oke as Director-General of the AMBO Campaign Organisation, amid allegations of internal party tension, leadership imposition, and growing discontent among long-standing members.

The letter, authored by Ilesanmi Moses of Ward 5, Osogbo Local Government, referenced the historical values of the progressive movement, citing the legacies of past leaders such as Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Bola Ige, and Chief Bisi Akande, whom it described as symbols of discipline, internal democracy, and ideological consistency within the progressive family.

According to the writer, the current political developments within the Osun APC deviate from those principles, alleging that recent high-profile defectors into the party have begun to wield excessive influence over its structure and decision-making processes.

The letter specifically named several recent entrants into the party, including Senator Francis Fadahunsi, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla, Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, Hon. Emmanuel Olusanya Omirin, and Hon. Wole Oke, arguing that their presence, rather than strengthening the party, has created internal resentment and tension among long-standing members.

It further alleged that Oke’s appointment as DG of the AMBO Campaign Organisation was inappropriate, describing it as a reward that sidelined more established party figures. The author claimed that experienced party leaders such as Prof. Mojeed Alabi, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello, Senator Ajibola Basiru, Senator Mudashiru Hussein, Hon. Wale Afolabi, and others were overlooked despite their long-standing contributions to the party.

The letter also raised allegations—without providing verifiable evidence—that financial inducements influenced internal party decisions, while questioning the ideological commitment of recent entrants into the APC.

It further criticized what it described as growing dominance of “defectors” in party leadership roles, warning that such trends could undermine the stability and unity of the progressive movement in Osun State.

The writer also accused Oke of lacking strong grassroots dominance beyond his federal constituency, while arguing that leadership positions within the party should remain in the hands of “tested and loyal” members who have sustained the party over the years.

The letter appealed to senior party figures, including Chief Bisi Akande and members of the APC elders’ caucus, to intervene and restore what it described as ideological discipline and internal fairness within the party structure.

It concluded with a warning that failure to address the situation could deepen internal divisions ahead of future elections.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Hon. Wole Oke nor the AMBO Campaign Organisation had issued an official response to the allegations.
