Osun APC Suffers Fresh Blow as Omisore Ally, Ojo-Williams, Resigns

 By Kehinde Awosina

The former Chairman of Obokun Local Government and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Otunba Barr. S.L. Ojo-Williams, popularly known as the Otunowa of Imesi-Ile, has resigned his membership of the party, citing concerns over recent developments within its ranks.

In his resignation letter, Ojo-Williams, a close ally of Senator Iyiola Omisore, former Deputy Governor of Osun State and former National Secretary of the APC, stated that after careful reflection and a thorough assessment of the situation within the party, he no longer found sufficient reasons to remain a member.

His resignation has sparked discussions among political stakeholders and residents, with many questioning the implications of the development for the APC's strength and cohesion in Osun State ahead of future elections.

Political observers believe the move could signal further shifts within the state's political landscape, particularly amid reports of growing discontent and ongoing realignments among party members. Similar resignations by APC members have recently been reported across the state, underscoring the political adjustments taking place ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

The development is expected to intensify debates over the APC's internal unity and electoral prospects as political activities gradually gather momentum in preparation for upcoming contests in the state.
