The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has declared that he is ready to sacrifice his life for Nigeria if the need arises.

Obi made the statement during a recent media interview where he spoke about his commitment to the country and his belief that leadership requires total dedication and courage, even to the point of personal risk.

He stressed that anyone aspiring to lead Nigeria must be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice in service of the people, especially in a country facing serious security and economic challenges.

According to him, leadership is not about comfort or personal gain, but about responsibility, accountability, and willingness to stand with citizens in difficult times.

Obi also reiterated his concern about Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, saying leaders must take decisive action to protect lives and restore public confidence.

He maintained that his commitment to Nigeria remains firm, adding that he has no other country he identifies with and is fully devoted to the nation’s progress.

The comments have since generated public reactions, with supporters describing them as a reflection of his passion for national service, while critics argue over the political context of the statement.
