Police Rescue Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons; Two Suspected Kidnappers Killed

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a rescue operation in Oyo State.
The victims were rescued alive at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, after spending three days in captivity. Police sources disclosed that two suspected kidnappers were killed during a gun battle with security operatives, while two firearms were recovered from the gang.
Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons were abducted on June 3, 2026, at the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan while she was taking the children to school. Armed men reportedly intercepted their vehicle and whisked them away.
According to security sources, sustained intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tactical pressure enabled police operatives to track the kidnappers and force a confrontation that led to the successful rescue of the victims. Some members of the gang reportedly escaped, with security personnel continuing efforts to apprehend them.
The rescue has brought relief to the Adelabu family and residents who had expressed concern following the abduction. The victims were rescued unharmed and reunited with their family.
