Senator Alli Denies Link to Kidnap Case, Condemns ‘Malicious Falsehood’

The Media Office of Senator (Dr.) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has strongly refuted allegations circulating on social media linking the lawmaker to the abduction of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the senator’s media team described the report as “false, malicious, defamatory and politically motivated,” insisting that Senator Alli has no connection whatsoever to the kidnapping incident or any criminal activity.
The statement noted that the attempt to associate the senator with the crime was based solely on unverified claims allegedly made by a suspect under investigation, stressing that no security agency has established any link between the lawmaker and the incident.
According to the statement, Senator Alli, a serving senator, legal practitioner and Ibadan High Chief, has built a reputation rooted in public service, peace-building and adherence to the rule of law, making the allegations both illogical and unfounded.
The media office further alleged that efforts to connect campaign materials or political stickers to criminal activities were part of a deliberate agenda by political opponents to tarnish the image of a prominent leader whose influence continues to expand across Oyo State.
While condemning kidnapping and all forms of criminality, Senator Alli reaffirmed his support for security agencies and ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property.
The statement urged members of the public to disregard the publication and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of undermining investigations or creating political tension.
It also called on security agencies to identify and prosecute those behind what it described as a campaign of fake news and political blackmail.
The senator, the statement added, remains focused on his legislative responsibilities and his vision for a safer, more prosperous and united Oyo State.
