Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to visit Ekiti State on Tuesday, June 9, to inaugurate key infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

The state government disclosed that the Vice President will commission the newly completed Ijigbo Flyover in Ado-Ekiti, the second flyover constructed in the state capital under the current administration. The project is aimed at improving traffic flow, enhancing road safety and modernising the city’s road network.

According to the Ekiti State Commissioner for Works, Sola Adebayo, the commissioning ceremony will take place at the Ijigbo Flyover, located in front of Ecobank, and is expected to attract top government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders and residents from across the state.

Adebayo said the flyover reflects the Oyebanji administration’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that improves the living conditions of residents while stimulating economic growth and development across the state.

The commissioner also announced temporary traffic diversions and movement restrictions around the project area during the commissioning exercise, urging motorists and residents to cooperate with traffic and security officials deployed for the event.

Residents have been encouraged to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Vice President and witness the inauguration of what the state government described as a landmark infrastructure project.
