President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday swore in Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The appointments followed the resignation of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue political ambitions.

Tegbe, an accomplished economic reform strategist and former Senior Partner at KPMG Africa, brings over 35 years of experience spanning public and private sector governance, fiscal reforms, and stakeholder engagement. A native of Ibadan, Oyo State, he holds a First Class degree in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, alongside master's degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration.

Before his appointment, Tegbe worked with several major institutions and corporations, including the Nigerian Communications Commission, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shell, MTN, Huawei and General Electric.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Enikanolaiye, a seasoned diplomat from Kogi State, takes office after decades of service in Nigeria's foreign service. He holds a First Class degree in Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master's degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.

The career diplomat served in key diplomatic missions in Ethiopia, Serbia, Canada, the United Kingdom and India, and retired as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2017 after 35 years of service. Prior to his ministerial appointment, he served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

Senior government officials and family members of the newly appointed ministers witnessed the swearing-in ceremony.
