Two Years After Mr Ibu's Death, Widow Appeals for Help Over Rent, Children's Education

The family of late Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, has made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance, revealing that they are battling severe financial hardship more than two years after the actor's death.

In an emotional interview with content creator King Mitchy, Mr Ibu's widow disclosed that she has been unable to pay the family's house rent, forcing them to endure difficult living conditions. She said their electricity supply has been disconnected for about two months due to unpaid bills, leaving the family to seek places outside their home to charge their phones.

The widow also revealed that the family now depends on water from a well because they cannot afford basic utilities. According to her, the financial burden has become overwhelming, making it difficult to provide even the most essential needs for her children.

One of Mr Ibu's daughters praised her mother for remaining strong despite the hardship, saying she continues to do everything possible to feed the family and cater for their education.

The widow further disclosed that the children's education is now under threat as they are unable to continue attending school due to unpaid school fees. She said the school had already sent a notice regarding the outstanding payments, leaving the family worried about the children's future.

King Mitchy, who conducted the interview, appealed to members of the public to support the family in settling their rent, paying the children's school fees, and restoring electricity to their home.

Mr Ibu, one of Nigeria's most celebrated comic actors, died on March 2, 2024, after a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy that endeared him to millions of fans across Africa.
