The Director-General of the Osun State APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Wole Oke, on Friday unveiled a 3,000-member grassroots canvassing team in Obokun Local Government to drive support for the governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ahead of the forthcoming election.
The inauguration, held in Ibokun, attracted party leaders, stakeholders, executives and supporters from across the ten wards of Obokun Local Government, underscoring the APC's commitment to strengthening its grassroots structure.
The canvassers, selected from the area's 100 polling units, are expected to lead voter outreach efforts, deepen political awareness and promote the party's message at the community level.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Engr. Moruf Ogundipe, praised Wole Oke's leadership and described the exercise as a defining moment in the party's mobilisation strategy. He urged the canvassers to remain dedicated to the task ahead.
Barr. Dupe Ajayi administered the oath of office, while other party leaders, including Hon. Owoeye Samuel Abiodun, Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede (JMK), Hon. Rufus Oluwatayo, Hon. Ezekiel Obeisun and Prof. Siji Olamijulo, charged the canvassers to work for unity and electoral success.
In his remarks, Wole Oke expressed satisfaction with the turnout and readiness of party members, announcing immediate training and orientation programmes for the newly inaugurated canvassers.
"This is not just an inauguration; it is the activation of a well-coordinated grassroots machinery that will drive our campaign to success," he said.
Party stakeholders described the initiative as one of the most extensive grassroots mobilisation efforts so far, positioning Obokun as a key pillar of the APC's statewide campaign for the 2026 governorship election.
