ADC Rejects Dissolution of Kano Executive, Insists Leadership Remains Intact

The Kano State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected claims that its executive committee was dissolved by the party's national leadership, describing the move as unconstitutional and lacking due process.


State Chairman Musa Ungogo said no official communication authorising the dissolution had been received, insisting the state executive remains the legitimate leadership of the party in Kano. He questioned why only Kano was targeted, noting that no similar action had been taken in other states.


The reaction followed an announcement by the party's Deputy National Chairman (North-West), Hajiya Najaatu Mohammed, who declared the dissolution of the Kano executive and unveiled a caretaker committee headed by Alhaji Umar Bala. She said the decision was taken in line with the party's constitution and the Electoral Act to preserve unity and ensure administrative continuity.


Despite the national leadership's position, Ungogo maintained that the Kano executive would continue to function until a lawful directive was issued by the appropriate organs of the party, deepening the leadership dispute within the ADC in the state.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
