Adeleke, Accord NEC Adopt Tinubu as Party's 2027 Presidential Candidate

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Accord Party have adopted President Bola Tinubu as the party's presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.


The decision was reached during a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where Adeleke and the party's national leadership deliberated on issues affecting the party and the country's political direction.


According to the party's leadership, backing Tinubu's re-election bid is necessary to allow his administration to complete major infrastructure projects already underway, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway.


The meeting also focused on the forthcoming August governorship election in Osun State. The party's leadership raised concerns over the conduct of the poll, warning against violence, voter intimidation, electoral manipulation, and the alleged deployment of security agencies to harass or intimidate Accord Party members during the election.


Among those present at the meeting were Accord National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem, Deputy National Chairman Maryam Sale, National Secretary Ajaja Abiola Adebukola, National Treasurer Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen, National Organising Secretary Ibe Thankgod, and National Publicity Secretary Omorogbe Joseph.


State chairmen of the Accord Party from across the country also attended the meeting.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit. The development marks another early gain for Accord as the collation of results from polling units across Osun State continues.
