APC Formally Retains Shettima as Tinubu’s Running Mate, Receives 2027 Presidential Nomination Forms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally received the presidential nomination forms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the 2027 general elections, officially confirming Shettima's retention as the party's vice-presidential candidate.


The nomination forms were received on Friday by the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, during a ceremony held at the Continental Hotel in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.


The forms were presented on behalf of President Tinubu by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Masari, marking another step in the ruling party's preparations for the 2027 presidential election.


The event attracted several prominent APC leaders, governors, and stakeholders from across the country. Among those in attendance were the Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma; Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris; Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani; Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum; and Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.


Other senior party officials and stakeholders also attended the ceremony, which underscored the APC's efforts to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 general elections.


Shettima's retention on the presidential ticket puts to rest weeks of speculation over the party's vice-presidential candidate, reaffirming the Tinubu-Shettima partnership for another electoral contest.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
