APC Will Win Osun Governorship Election, Oyetola's Wife Declares

Former Osun State First Lady, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the August 15, 2026, governorship election in the state.


Speaking at a campaign event organised by the Akoni Obinrin Support Group in Osogbo on Saturday, Kafayat Oyetola said the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), possesses the experience, competence, and leadership qualities required to transform Osun State.


She urged women across the state to mobilise support for the APC, stressing that Oyebamiji's administration would prioritise development, improve the welfare of residents, and deliver effective governance if elected.


Kafayat also appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the governorship election is peaceful, free, fair, and credible, urging voters to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the electoral process.


Also speaking at the event, the wife of the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Sekinah Oyebamiji, commended the Akoni Obinrin Support Group for its support and mobilisation efforts. She called on women to remain united and work tirelessly to secure victory for the party at the polls.


The gathering attracted APC women leaders, party supporters, and members of various campaign groups, who reaffirmed their commitment to delivering votes for the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit. The development marks another early gain for Accord as the collation of results from polling units across Osun State continues.
