Ataoja Endorses Adeleke's Development Drive as Governor Commissions Lameco Bridge

Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended the success of his administration's local content policy, describing it as a model that has enabled indigenous contractors and suppliers to deliver world-class infrastructure projects across Osun State.

The governor made the remarks on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo, declaring that the project marks the beginning of the inauguration of several completed mega projects undertaken by his administration.

According to Adeleke, the flyover is one of many projects designed to improve the lives of residents through investments in roads, bridges, healthcare, education, and water infrastructure.

"This project is not isolated. Today marks the commencement of the unveiling of several mega projects initiated by our government. It reflects our commitment to rebuilding Osun through infrastructure that positively impacts the lives of our people," he said.

The governor explained that the projects were executed with strict adherence to due process and transparency, stressing that his administration achieved the feats without placing undue financial burdens on future generations.

He noted that the quality of the Lameco Flyover demonstrates the capability of Nigerian professionals, saying the success of the project validates the administration's local content policy.

"We have shown the world that our local engineers can deliver projects that meet global standards," Adeleke stated.

Providing an update on infrastructure development across the state, the governor disclosed that his administration has completed over 27 kilometres of intra-city roads in Osogbo and more than 300 kilometres of roads statewide, with over 10 major projects already completed and awaiting commissioning.

He urged residents to protect the newly commissioned bridge by avoiding acts of vandalism, illegal trading, and destruction of public facilities, while directing the Ministry of Works to ensure proper maintenance of the structure.

Speaking at the event, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Larooye, praised Governor Adeleke for what he described as remarkable developmental projects executed in Osogbo and across the state.

Addressing the gathering in Yoruba, the monarch expressed gratitude to the governor and declared that the people of Osogbo would appreciate his contributions.

"If I were a politician, I would mobilise Osogbo people to vote massively for you because you have done so much for our town. We remain grateful for your commitment to our development," the royal father said.

The monarch also revealed that despite pressure from some quarters to refrain from supporting developmental initiatives, he remained committed to advocating for the progress of Osogbo.

The commissioning ceremony, which was broadcast live on TVC and Arise Television, attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and residents from across the state.
