Atiku Hails Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya's Election As 33rd NBA President

Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her election as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing her victory as a reflection of the legal profession's confidence in her leadership.


In a statement issued on Sunday, Atiku said Badejo-Okusanya's emergence marked another significant milestone for women in the legal profession and expressed optimism that her administration would strengthen the role of the NBA in defending democratic principles.


According to the former vice president, the Nigerian Bar Association remains a critical institution in the protection of constitutional democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and judicial independence.


He urged the newly elected NBA president and her executive team to discharge their responsibilities with courage, integrity, and independence while promoting equal access to justice for all Nigerians.


"The NBA remains a critical pillar in the defence of constitutional democracy, the rule of law, human rights and judicial independence. I urge the new leadership to uphold these values with courage and independence while advancing equal access to justice for all Nigerians," Atiku stated.


The former vice president also wished Badejo-Okusanya and her team a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that her leadership would further strengthen the legal profession and the administration of justice in the country.


Badejo-Okusanya was recently elected as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association, succeeding the outgoing leadership of the association.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
