DJ Chicken Lands In Kirikiri Prison After Allegedly Threatening To Kill Tinubu’s Son, Seyi

Controversial social media personality, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being arraigned before a Magistrate's Court in Ogba, Lagos, over alleged threats to kill Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu. 


DJ Chicken appeared before Magistrate M.F. Onamusi on Friday on a three-count charge bordering on alleged threat to life, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and offences under the Cybercrime Act.


The charges stem from a viral video he allegedly posted on his social media platforms last week, in which he threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu while declaring that President Bola Tinubu would not secure re-election in 2027. 


Following public outrage over the video, DJ Chicken reportedly deleted the post and released another video claiming his remarks were merely intended to attract attention and boost his popularity. He insisted he had no intention of carrying out the threat and described himself as a content creator and comedian. 


Despite the retraction, prosecutors proceeded with the case, charging him under the Criminal Law of Lagos State and the Cybercrime Act.


DJ Chicken pleaded not guilty to all the charges.


The court granted him bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum. The bail conditions include that one surety must be a government worker, while the other must be a community leader who owns property in Lagos. Both are required to present three years' tax clearance, LASRRA identification, National Identification Number (NIN), utility bills, and one of the sureties must be a blood relative of the defendant. 


Pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions, the magistrate ordered that DJ Chicken be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.


The case was adjourned until August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election
