Oyebanji Presents Certificate of Return to Tinubu After Historic Ekiti Re-election

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, on Wednesday presented his Certificate of Return to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following his landmark victory in the June 20, 2026 governorship election.


Governor Oyebanji, who was accompanied by the Chairman of the Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Election Campaign Council, Opeyemi Bamidele, formally presented the certificate to the President during a visit to his office at the Aso Villa.


The governor secured a resounding re-election victory in the June 20 poll, polling 319,224 votes, representing 85.72 percent of the total valid votes cast.


With the victory, Oyebanji made history as the first governor of Ekiti State to win re-election for two consecutive terms, cementing his place in the state's political history.


He also recorded a clean sweep across the state by winning in all 16 local government areas, a feat widely regarded as a strong endorsement of his administration by the people of Ekiti.


The presentation of the Certificate of Return to President Tinubu is seen as a symbolic moment, marking the governor's official return for a second term and reaffirming the ruling APC's dominance in Ekiti State following the historic electoral outcome.

Accord Shocks APC, Wins Omisore’s Polling Unit in Osun Governorship Election

  By Abdulahi Musa  The Accord Party has won the governorship election at the polling unit of former Osun Deputy Governor and ex-National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore. Results uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV) showed that Accord secured 131 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ife Ward 1 (Moore), St. Gabriel Primary School, in Ife East Local Government Area. The APC placed second with 85 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 10 votes. Other political parties recorded only a few votes at the polling unit.
